You missed the free give away stuff.
Okay, not really. There were a few more people than usual, but that is just due to random chance more than anything. There also might be gaming allowed next weekend because they don't necessarily have to move the tables first and foremost. _________________ My stompa w.i.p.:

I talked to Jeff, and while he said they might not be moving the tables yet, he wasn't willing to guaranty it. As such, it will be CMU for the Goblin cup. Of BTW Sean what time will game be starting and what are the exact rules? I've heard there will be no gold involved(so not even the normal gold for playing), Star player points as normal, Casualties as normal and a chunk of Fanfactor for the winner. Obviously no inducements as it is a tourney. Let me know if this sounds accurate.
P.S. I've finally got my team rating above 100! I bought a 12 elf roster, went down to 9 and am back up to 10. If I can roll higher than a 1 for winnings, I might actually have a team that can survive! _________________ Kerwin

Is there any possibility of 40k at CMU? I know the tables aren't that big, but we can push them together and go the route of 4'x4' felt mats lain over top. Hell, that way I'd be required to actually get my rear moving to make terrain, as would others.
Just asking because it would be a whole lot easier for many people if we could. I probably won't be around enough to be effected by the whole PotA thing in the next couple of years, but it can't hurt to get something up and running in Oakland. _________________ My stompa w.i.p.:

Yea that could work, and id be willing to make terrain as well. Playing smaller games is better then not playing at all. Oh and did I miss anything after I left? |

Yea, my wood elves finally managed to make it through a game w/o a death! Of course I'm still rolling 1's for money, so it will take forever to save up cash. Maybe my luck will improve next weekend. _________________ Kerwin

Yes, I only have 10 at the moment. And, yes, I'm trying to save up for a wardancer. The one I was able to get via inducements was worth at least 3 players(leap, dodge, block, and agility 4 on a 120k player is rather broken). Of course, I'm happy that I bought that apocthicary. It meant that I only had 1 dead lineman when playing stewart's brother. The other one only got to miss the next game and -1 movement(guess who gets to stay on the line next to the treeman and the lineman with dodge). _________________ Kerwin

| Yup, and that's why most people will dedicate three players to killing him. |

I've also found that simply avoiding him is a good strategy. It has tended to be mine when dealing with treemen. After all, they are MV2! Keep the ball 4 squares from him, and he can't do a thing. After all, taking him down will generally take 4-5 people(unless you have somone with more than 4 strength).
The other idea is to simply distract him with an expendable player, skaven, undead and other team with 50k or lower linemen can easily perform this. They are so cheap, you hardly care if they die!
Playing this woodelf team certainly is a challenge. the big thing seems to be keeping players alive. If I do that, then I stand a good chance of scoring... _________________ Kerwin

It should be hard because, as we have seen in the past, if you keep them alive for any amount of time they become this horrible monstrosity.
Nothing like an entire team of Mv8, block, dodge, leap, strip ball goodness. |

Actually Mark...I'm NOT going to put leap on every one of my players. I'm in this game to have fun, NOT just to win. As such, I didn't even bother fouling with my skaven and have stuck with my original wood elf team even as they their team value plunged below 90. I'll also still play Mech Eldar even though you consider them utter junk. _________________ Kerwin
