I was going over my mob when I got home and noticed something.
You do not roll on the botched job table when customizing for the first time. You only get a penalty for going back a second time for the same upgrade.
I'm not sure if I just missed it and everybody else was aware, but I thought I would point it out. |

this just prooves we all need to sit down and read the rules and go over things. even if we know the book word for word, it'll help everyone to get an understanding....not that theres any real way to understand Orks. _________________

Yup and thats why its good that there are so many people reading the rules so that we can find things like this. |

Always good to read the rules. Hopefully we will have worked out many of the kinks by now so we can start fresh on the 17th. If we have any rules questions, I'd say we should be willing to stop and look it up. I know some people have looked at this as some sort of competition, but I have looked at it as a nice way to pass the time until 5th Edition shows up. _________________ Kerwin

That actually changes quite a lot for me, 'cause I've only got one gun that hasn't been to the mek yet!
That means my 'Eavy shoota's range is back to 40", my one spanna's shoota doesn't auto-fail, my other spanna's shoota is range 18" again, and my boy Garslob'z shoota doesn't have a -1 to hit! Some pretty big changes there. And kinda makes me wish I hadn't just replaced the 13" range, SusFire 1 shoota on another boy....
I had read that as well, but I thought the botched table was different from those when I read it first, for some reason (possibly thinking "I saw a botched table at the beginning of this section" and not thinking about the part where the title of the table had "vehicle" in it ), so Sean and I rolled rather frequently on those tables!
Dok Dakkaz gitz just got a 'ole lot Dakka-er! _________________ The universe is orkdom!

Yeah, it's not the most clearly written rules section.
From what I can tell the first one is complication free. You still have to roll on the first table in that section to see what happens, i.e. he didn't work on it, or whatever, but the negative modifier table (later in the section) is only if you try to put the same upgrade on twice. So if you give a shoota +S, you're fine but if you try to give it another +S ten you get a negative. |
